SPIRITUAL DIRECTION LONG-TERM To make Spiritual Direction a regular part of your spiritual journey directors are available to meet with you on a regular basis, usually every 4 - 6 weeks. Directees must be committed to a regular rhythm of personal and communal prayer. They must also be willing to engage in regular reflection on God's movement in their lives in the attempt to discern the direction of God's call. All of this is material which the Directees prepares and brings to spiritual direction meetings. While each individual is unique, there are patterns to the movement of God's Spirit in our lives. These patterns, while not dissimilar across different traditions, are expressed according to unique language and concepts in each tradition. Spiritual Directors at Evensong are familiar with these patterns as expressed in the Christian Tradition, both in training and as experienced in their own prayer lives. The Spiritual Director will listen carefully and caringly to the directee, at times offering feedback and engaging the directee in conversation to help bring new insights to light. Spiritual Direction is available on a sliding scale fee. The normal fee for a 50 minute session $75.		SPIRITUAL DIRECTION DURING RETREATS Directed retreats may take a variety of formats. There are structured retreats such as the 8-day Ignation retreat which make use of the Ignation Exercises. There are 5-day retreats which, while they also work with Scripture, are more adaptable to an individual's particular prayer style. There are also private individual retreats of shorter duration during which a person sets her or his own rhythm of prayer. Spiritual Directors during these retreats work with the individual to companion them on their retreat. A retreatant may choose to meet with a director at the beginning and end of their retreat, or daily. In the case of structured retreats there are daily meetings during which the director helps guide the retreatant through the retreat exercises. In less structured retreats the director works with the retreatant to identify the goals they have for their retreat. Using a combination of listening skills and knowledge of retreat patterns and exercises, the director helps the retreatant to discern God's hand at work during the time of the retreat. The fee for Spiritual Direction during retreats is $30 for 30 minute sessions.
