LIST OF VARIOUS CATHOLIC REFORM ORGANIZATIONS

Call to Action: an independent national organization of over 20,000 people and 40 local organizations who believe the Spirit of God is at work in the whole church, not just in its appointed leaders; believes the entire Catholic church has the obligation of responding to the needs of the world and taking initiative in programs of peace and justice

Catholics Speak Out--a movement for justice, equality and democracy in the Roman Catholic Church.

CORPUS--an association for an inclusive priesthood which rooted in a strong Eucharistic commitment, promotes an expanded and renewed priesthood of married and single women and men in the Catholic Church.

Dignity USA--a national organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans gendered Catholics, their families and friends.

Ecumenical Catholic Communion Welcome to the Ecumenical Catholic Communion on the World Wide Web (http://www.ecumenical-catholic-communion.org/)
We are a gathering of Faith Communities from across America who have entered into a covenant relationship with one another as we seek to celebrate the love of Christ in all people. We are deeply committed to our Catholic identity and practice a distinctively Catholic Faith Tradition that is rooted in the ancient Church. We also believe that as Catholics we have the responsibility of honoring our Catholic Tradition while responding in love and wisdom to the needs and realities of the contemporary world.
We invite you to explore this website in order to gain a greater understanding of our beliefs, practices, and more importantly, the work of the Holy Spirit among us!

Federation of Christian Ministries (FCM)   Called by God’s Spirit and grounded in personal spiritual practice, the Federation of Christian Ministries responds by worshiping God and supporting the growth in faith and ministry of its individual and collective members.  Our Christ-inspired organization does this by welcoming people of all spiritual persuasions. We offer empowerment and certification to those who have discerned a call to ministry.

Future Church--a coalition of parish-based Catholics who are committed to preserving the Eucharist as the core of Catholic worship.

Mary's Pence--a Catholic organization that provides an opportunity for men and women to direct a church donation to women's ministries.

RomanCatholic Womenpriests - The goal of the group "RC Womenpriests" (Roman Catholic Womenpriests) is to bring about the full equality of women in the Roman Catholic Church. At the same time we are striving for a new model of Priestly Ministry. The movement "RC Womenpriests" does not perceive itself as a counter-current movement against the Roman Catholic Church. It wants neither a schism nor a break from the Roman Catholic Church, but rather wants to work positively within the Church

Spirit of Life Community: A sister community based in Weston, MA. Just as a community of believers has formed and worships regularly at Evensong (St. Mary of Magdala Ecumenical Catholic Community at Evensong), the Spirit of Life Community is a Catholic Community of Justice and Joy that worships regularly in Boston's Metro-West region.

Women's Ordination Conference (WOC)—is one of the original organizations of women and men committed to the ordination of women in the Roman Catholic church.

The Ecumenical Catholic Diocese of  America
Bishop Peter Paul Berennan, Oridinary
Founded in the early 1980’s by Bishop Brennan and a group of regisned catholic Priests who stated that “the needs of the Catholic community at large were such that a new vision of the Church and Catholicism was required.”  It was begun as the Ecumenical Catholic Diocese of Long Island (where Bishop Brennan lives), and later became the Ecumenical Diocese of America.
Brennan, who began his ministry affiliated with the Federation of Christian Ministries (FCM) and who was key to their initial organization, went off on a different track in founding the diocese.  FCM went on to organize in a non-hierarchical fashion a structure which it maintains to this day.
As Bishop of the Ecumenical Catholic Diocese of America (ECDA) Brennan served on the Board of another organization, St. Barnabas Mission (SBM)  SBM had been founded as a non-profit by another priest to serve as a foundation to receive and distribute funds for charitable purposes .  Eventually Bishop Brennan  inherited  SBM and today it serves as a charitable arm of ECDA.  St. Barnabas’ Mission is recognized as  a Church by the IRS.
Ironically, FCM has reconnected with Brennan and St. Barnabas’ Mission in order to claim the required status of Church affiliation that the Department of Defense  requires of a commissioning body for its chaplains.

Voice of the Faithful is a lay organization of faithful Catholics, who organized in 2002 as a response to the sexual abuse crisis in the Catholic Church. We started in the basement of a church in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and have since expanded worldwide with more than 30,000 members.
Our Mission is to provide a prayerful voice, attentive to the Spirit, through which the faithful can actively participate in the governance and guidance of the Catholic Church.
We work towards achieving our mission by pursuing three goals:

  • Support survivors of clergy sexual abuse
  • Support priests of integrity
  • Shape structural change within the Catholic Church

American Catholic Council is a movement bringing together a network of individuals, organizations, and communities to consider the state and future of our Church. We believe our Church is at a turning point in its history. We recall the promise of the Second Vatican Council for a renaissance of the roles and responsibilities of all the Baptized through a radically inclusive and engaged relationship between the Church and the World.  We respond to the Spirit of Vatican II by summoning the Baptized together to demonstrate our re-commitment. We seek personal conversion to renew our Church to conform to the authentic Gospel message, the teachings of our Church, and our lived context in the United States. Our reading of the “signs of the times”, as we experience them in the US, our plan and our agenda are set out in our Declaration.  We educate; we listen; we facilitate discussions and encounters; and, we build toward an American Catholic Council at Pentecost 2011.  At this Council we hope to proclaim our belief in the Rights and Responsibilities of US Catholics.
Intentional Eucharistic Communities:  This is an affiliation of small Eucharistic Communities from around the United States.  It’s website has one of the best directories of small communities around the country.
