Return to the Wellspring: Coming Back to the Source of Our Ministry
Jesus has a truly unique approach to team building. In the gospels he chose men and women from not merely diverse but even antithetical backgrounds to be his followers. Then he required that they not only get along, but that they love each other in a manner so profound others might be inspired to do likewise.
Each of us comes to ministry by our own unique path - but the starting point is the same for it is the Lord who calls us. "Return to the Wellspring" invites the members of your Church staff or committee to reflect upon and share some of the story of their own call to ministry. Using scripture, guided reflection, and group discussion participants will come back to the Source of their ministry, and spend some time with the Master to be refreshed and renewed.Presenter's Fee : $200
Listening to the Whole Person: Understanding Differences to Enhance Communication
Working as a team in any setting is a challenge to us as individuals. It requires the ability to communicate our own perceptions and opinions clearly while listening well to others. To do this effectively it is critical that we understand ourselves and others and the various and different ways in which people communicate
.
The Myers Briggs Type Indicator is the most widely used personality profile in the world. It was developed precisely as an instrument by which people might better understand themselves and others in the process of relating to the world, taking in information, and imparting it.This program offers Church staffs or committees the opportunity to take the MBTI, study the results for themselves, and learn what those results mean for the groups effective communication. Using presentations and group discussion Rev. David will lead the group through the results of the MBTI and engage group exercises to apply those results.
For Churches selecting this program materials for the MBTI will be sent to the Church 4 weeks prior to the date of the session. Participants can complete the materials and return them to Rev. David in time for results to be processed for the day of the session.
Presenter's Fee: $200
The MBTI materials and
processing: $ 35 per person
Corporate Reflection: A Process for Making Communal Decisions
Difficult, even contentious, decisions are at times an unavoidable part of the life of a community. Such moments present a significant challenge for Church leaders who are responsible for both the well-being and unity of their Community.
The Corporate Reflection Process offers groups as few as five or communities comprised of hundreds with a step by step method for involving all who wish to be involved in arriving at the decision to be made. With very specific ground rules for respecting all involved The Corporate Reflection Process moves through a series of exercises which allow participants to listen as a group to the contribution of each individual, to reflect as a body, and to work toward a communal consensus about the path to be taken.
Church staffs or committees might find it useful to learn and employ the Corporate Reflection Process for their own important decisions as a preliminary step to utilizing it at a broader level in the Church community.
Presenter's Fee: $200.00
